If you follow IndieSpotting on Twitter or Facebook, you may have noticed that I invited all you lovelies to collaborate with me on Pinterest!
Many of you were excited to contribute, so I created two group boards: IndieSpotting Crafty Inspiration and Show Off Your Fave Handmade Goodies.
I’m so inspired by everything that’s been shared so far! Today, I wanted to show you three of my favorite DIY projects pinned this week. The first (pictured above) was pinned by Stacie Grissom: DIY Two-Tone Cardigan on stars for streetlights. Isn’t this adorable for spring?
Next up is Wooden Branch Buttons on Shrimp Salad Circus pinned by Lindsay. What a perfect way to repurpose fallen branches into a cute accessory!
Last but not least is How to Make Quotation Mark Rings pinned by Curiously Creative. These spoke to my inner grammar nerd!

Please be mindful that the Crafty Inspiration board is exactly that – DIY projects only! If you want to pin products, please only use the Show Off Your Fave Handmade Goodies board. It’s only fun if we all play by the rules. 
On a side note, I know there’s been a lot of Pinterest-related controversy of late. There are plenty of great articles on the subject, so I won’t launch into too much detail here. However, I did want to highlight a few important points on Pinterest etiquette:
- Always, always link to the original source so that they can get the proper love and credit for their ideas! Link with Love is a wonderful movement encouraging using Pinterest and other social networks while still respecting and protecting intellectual property on the internet. I definitely recommend taking a bit of time to read over the concept while you’re there.
- Pinning a handmade product (i.e. from Etsy) and calling it a DIY project is a big No No! Please respect handmade artisans’ intellectual property and right to earn a living from their craft.
- If something is incorrectly linked or not credited properly, don’t repin it! Lead by example by posting credits and retaining links. If you can find the original source for a pin, politely draw attention to it. Be a better pinner and encourage others to do better, too!
