Johanna is the founder and designer behind the Raleigh-based Good Girls Studio. Johanna spent time in retail management but discovered her true passions were for jewelry design and treasure hunting. She says, “I think it’s important to reuse/recycle. Plus it’s so much fun treasure hunting in others’ trash!”
Johanna’s jewelry combines her penchant for asymmetry and romantic story telling (she loves using keys in her designs because Good Girls Studio is all about “unlocking hidden treasures”), and each holds a cherished piece of the past. Her work is filled with fine gemstones and flea market and thrift store discoveries, with just a dash of fairytale whimsy thrown in for good measure.
Rebecca is the talented soapmaker behind Rebecca’s Soap Delicatessen, a shop that specializes in deliciously fragrant handmade, cold process soaps. She started making soaps because she has sensitive skin and was unable to use the drying, irritating commercial soaps widely available. She started buying only handmade soaps and then began making them herself!
Rebecca’s Soap Delicatessen offers yummy scented soaps using skin-friendly ingredients like shea butter, sustainable palm oil, rice bran, coconut and olive oils – all of which create a luxurious, rich lather.
