Metropolis Soap Co. is a Brooklyn-based handmade soap company making 100% vegan and cruelty-free products that smell great and feel clean! In their quest for soapy world domination, Metropolis makes artisan soaps, body butters, lip balms, perfume oils, bath soaks and bubbles, facial care products and more.

Megan at Metropolis Soap Co. was sweet enough to send a lovely bar of soap for me to check out: The Spicy Citrus Gang. It’s a 4 oz. blend of saponified oils (sunflower, coconut, palm kernel, rice bran and shea butter) and essential oils. The scent is a bright, sweet orange with spicy cinnamon and clove notes. Besides smelling wonderful and looking mighty pretty on the bathroom counter, this bar of soap has really fun packaging. I love Metropolis’ signature retro comic book look ~ I think any of their products (especially the soap samplers) would make a great gift for guys or gals!

Meet Jennifer Sulligan of Little Batch Botanicals ~

School librarian by day and mad scientist soaper by night… No, it’s not a new comic book character ~ it’s Jennifer! Little Batch Botanicals is the result of her soapy experiments: apothecary bath and beauty products that are handmade in small batches with lye (for the soaps) and sustainably harvested oils.

Soapmaking is a family tradition that dates back to Jennifer’s great-great-grandmother, and her interest in all things floral and herbal stems from both of her grandfathers (pun intended). Little Batch Botanicals’ products are also cruelty-free and paraben-free, packaged in Earth-friendly materials.
